Rationing Challenge - Day 3

Breakfast

Rationing pancakes bacon


Pancakes (1 cup self raising flour, 1/2pint milk, 1 egg, pinch of salt, lard for frying) - 3-4 small pancakes each, with 4 leftover.
Drizzle of honey and a little butter. 
1 rasher pancetta each. 
Tea for grownups; milk for children. 



Mid-Morning
Cup of tea and a honey biscuit each. 


Lunch

Wartime Cottage Pie

Cottage Pie made with leftover mince & gravy topped with potatoes and tomatoes from leftover cheese & veg bake, and mashed up leftover baked potato, a little butter and a little cheese. 
Broccoli, asparagus and carrots, steamed. 
Raw spinach.
Tasted really good, and both girls cleared their plates.
Rationing Cottage Pie
Shortbread with jam. 
Tea and milk.

Wartime Vegetable Soup

Vegetable soup (tops of leeks, radish leaves, broccoli stalks, carrots, potato, swede, parsley, handful of barley, cooking water from yesterday's and today's veg. 
Bread & butter.
B ate two bowls of this, plus half of M's. The Hubby and I thought it was dull!


Steamed marmalade sponge pudding with custard. 
Milk for the girls.
